The client fell in love with the mountains and wilderness of the plot of land up in Rock Creek; but the existing cabin on site was tight and lacked functionality to the overall design. The goal of the cabin renovation was to make the structure more durable as it would only be used 3 seasons out of the year, update the interior finishes and solve the functionality issues on the main floor.

The layout of the main floor was corrected by bumping into the oversized washroom to provide more space in the kitchen, removing the closet in the lower floor bathroom and adding this space into the washroom for laundry and adding additional storage throughout the cabin. Interior finishes were updated for more durable choices and a warming colour palette.
